The Hovr you see today began in the idealistic pursuit of one simple goal – Founder Peter Schmid saw a friend frustrated with existing floating shelf hardware options and resolved to help solve a problem. Enter, the Hovr Bracket System: A two-part aluminum floating shelf bracket evolved from the core principle of the French cleat, the Hovr Bracket System boasts industry leading strength, versatility in wall placement that other systems can’t match, and a revolutionary design unlike anything else on the market – all while completely concealed within the shelf. The premise behind this game-changing new technology is simple yet elegant – one bracket is concealed within the shelf, the other affixed to the wall and studs, and the two are then locked together by a set screw in the bottom of the shelf. Several years and thousands of high-quality shelves later, that principle of helping and evolving still rings true as Hovr works to develop new and leading edge products and solutions to tackle new challenges.

Meet the Founder

Our story starts with our founder, Peter, helping a friend. His friend moved into a small & narrow apartment and needed help with a unique storage solution. That’s where the Hovr Bracket System was born.

Peter holds various degrees from top universities across Europe, including a masters degree in finance from The European University of Monaco. He has lived in several different countries around the world and speaks 5 different languages.

He has experience managing large companies in Europe with annual revenue in the billions. All this combines into an industry veteran who strives to achieve the best for his product, company, and team.
